Taipei and New Taipei have a very impressive network of riverside bicycle paths. However, when it comes to crossing rivers, the bridge options are not equally useful. Some bridges require leaving the bike path network and sharing a motorcycle lane, some only provide pedestrian stairs, and a few nicer ones have bike ramps or elevators that make access easier. Here is an overview of river-crossing bridges around Taipei.
